The Band 
Linkin Park originally started with the name Xero which was formed in 1996 by Mike and Brad. Mike and Brad both went to Agoura High School in Southern California. They later met Linkin Park's current drummer Rob Bourdon. Mike soon met DJ Joe Hahn at Art School. Xero was made up of Mike, Brad, Joe, Rob, Phoenix and Mark. Mark left the band before they were renamed to Hybrid Theory. They started looking for a new singer for the band; they met up with Chester who then joined the band, which is when they renamed the band to Hybrid Theory. As the band began to grow Warner Brothers was interested and signed them to their label. They were forced to change their name from Hybrid Theory to Linkin Park because of legal issues with another band. The name "Linkin Park" came about after changing the spelling of "Lincoln Park". They changed the spelling so they could get a domain or website. When Linkin Park started the web was an important factor in helping the band grow. They subsequently entered the studio with producer Don Gilmore to work on their debut album, Hybrid Theory. Hybrid Theory consisted of highly eclectic fusion of metal, hip-hop, rap, and pop styles. After the bands debut album became a success they released Hybrid Theory's 4 singles. In 2002 the band released there remix album of Hybrid Theory which was named Reanimation. Reanimation was an album full of Hybrid Theory remixes with help from artists like Motion Man, Chali 2NA, and Zion. Next came Meteora, Linkin Park's second album. Meteora was named of a rock formation in Greece. Meteora was recorded at NRG Studios just as Hybrid Theory was. Meteora was released March 25th 2003 and became an instant hit for all Linkin Park fans! So far 3 singles for Meteora have been released, "Somewhere I Belong", "Faint", "Numb", and "From The Inside". The bands future is uncertain at this time, but Linkin Park will always be remembered as one of the best rock bands of this era.

Music Brad Listens to: Groups like the Roots and Blackeyed Peas, maybe even JaRule on a good day, to harder and more alternative sounding rock bands like the Deftones, Sunny Day Real Estate... and then electronic sounding stuff like Depeche Mode, Nine Inch Nails. Dido.
On Brad: His first band was called Pricks, he then went on to form a band with Rob called Relative Degree. Brad had a Mullet in high school On "those" headphones: "The headphones are basically my plug into the matrix. I have them constructed for each video and Mike works with me on them. These are the new pair for "In the End" and I'm really stocked on them. Without them, I'm in a totally different time... frame, dimension, reality zone. Siblings: ? School: Dave joined a band in high school called 'Tasty Snax'. The band later changed their name to 'The Snax' While Phoenix was with The Snax he changed from guitar to bass guitar and stayed with it ever since.
College: Dave Graduated from UCLA
Other bands: Phoenix was the original bass player in Xero. Phoenix played with Xero until he decided to tour with The Snax for a year and a half & then came back to Linkin Park.
Instruments played: Dave is a talented musician he plays the bass, violin, guitar and Chello!
Name: Joseph Hahn

Marital Status: Joe does NOT have a girlfriend (or twin babies)

Ethnic Origin: Korean - American. His parents are from Korea they came to Glendale CA, where Joe was born.

College: Attend Pasadena art college of design but didn't graduated but it is where he met Mike. He went on as a comic book artists and work on drawing monsters along with working on special effects for films.
Previous jobs: Joe got a graphic designer right out of high school. He did the artwork and special effects for movies. Joe went on to do some artwork LP hybrid theory CD cover with Mike.
Instruments played: Joe did take up on turntables and mixing music in junior high and joined up with Mike in his band called Xero along with Rob, Brad and Phoenix. Then later on down the track Chester was add on. They originally wanted the name Hybrid Theory but that was already being used so they came up with Linkin Park after Lincolin Park.
On Joe: Joe wears: a snazy pair of black rim glasses similar to Chesters but a different style. His hair is natural black but he has lighten the colour to a light chesnut brown. Joe doesnt NOT have any tattoos or peircing.

On Chester: His idols are Robert Plant (Led Zeppelin) and Scott Weiland (Stone Temple Pilots). When Chaz was a little boy, he was often running along the house singing Depeche Mode songs (he was dreaming that he is the 5th member of the band).The bands that were the greatest inspiration for Chaz are Stone Temple Pilots (they inspired him most - the first STP album which really impressed him was "Misfits") and three other bands, which he knows by his brother (who is 13 years older): Loverboy, Foreigner and Rush. His favourite albums are: Fugazi - "13 Songs", Al Green - "Greatest Hits", Led Zeppelin - "IV", The Beatles - "The White Album", Stone Temple Pilots - "Purple".
He was a singer of Grey Daze before (1993). GD became quite popular (their songs were played in local broadcasting stations, they made 2 CDs, but have never signed a contract). Chester left the group because they were taking credits for his own lyrics; GD were just becoming popular in Arizona (USA), but they haven't rose to dizzy heights. They have a new vocalist now (this time it's a woman), they've also changed band name to Waterface. Mike Shinoda sent him a demo and offered to record his vocals to the music. Chaz left his birthday party to do that (!). When he finished, he called Mike and told him about it. Mike satisfied himself that the tape-recording is just brilliant. Next day Chester arrived to LA and became band member.
Chester wears glasses and has got many tatoos: Hybrid Theory soldier-tatoo on the right calf, green dragon-tatoo on the left one, red-blue flames on his hands, two japanese carps on the shoulders, a black creature-tatoo in his back and a wedding ring-tatoo on his right hand - and has recently had a new tatoo of a dragon done on his back. He's got a lipring - which he recently removed at his wifes request - whilst they were retaking their wedding vowes in Hawaii.

Ethnic Origin: Half-Japanese. Mike is Yonsei, which means he is fourth generation Japanese born in America. That means that his Japanese great grand parents were born in Japan and they immigrated to the US. Pets: A Collie dog called Bessie (who lives with his mother) and a fish.
School: Agoura high school.
College: Graduated from the Pasadena Art College of Design were he majored in illustration but studied graphic design heavily. Whilst there Mike had to do his finals in the same week that LP did a showcase for 6 record lables!

Previous jobs: Mike got a graphic designer right out of high school. He did the artwork for Styles of Beyond's 2000 fold CD. Mike went on to do most of the art work for Linkin Park merchandise including the album cover.
Inspiration: Mike was inspired to become a musician after his first concert experience. It was a Killer B's show, which was anthrax and public enemy.
Instruments played: Mike took classical piano lessons for 10 years. He got sick of playing classical music though and moved into jazz then hip-hop. He also plays guitar and Decks. Mike began rapping along with the likes of Run DMC, Eric B AndRakim,Grandmaster Flash and LL Cool J, trying to capture their flow and inspired,freestyling wordplay.He soon began inventing his own rhymes and would perform these for fun to his friends in the playground or after school.
On Mike: Mike wears contacts and says that dark blue is his natural hair color, the light blue was just a phase. Mike doesnt NOT have any tatoos or a tongue peircing. Mike is a DISTANT relative of the composer Tchaikovsky!

College: Rob went to Santa Monica College and majored in accounting.
Instruments played: Rob started to play the drums when he was in elementary school (third or fourth grade) after he went to an Aerosmith concert. His mom actually knows Joey Kramer (Aerosmith's drummer) so he got to go backstage and see the whole production. Rob also likes to play the piano when he has time. He used to take classical lessons when he was young and was forced to keep going.
On Rob: Favorite Foods, Mexican, Italian. Favorite Place to Travel,Rob likes traveling to the beach or a lake to water-ski and relax. Favorite Music, When he was in high school, Rob was into a lot of funk such as Sly And The Family Stones, James Brown, and Tower of Power. Rob started playing in bands when he was 13. He mostly played cover songs such as Smells Like Teen Spirit by Nirvana. He was in a band with Brad called Relative Degree. It was rock meets funk and rap. They practiced a lot, played one show, then broke up.
